Branches
The governing body of the Urostomy Association is the membership.
The Urostomy Association is administered by a National Executive
Committee, which is also the board of directors (The UA is a charity limited by guarantee).
To provide additional support and face-to-face contact for members, the UA has formed a network of Regional Branches throughout the UK and Ireland.
Each Branch has a President (a Consultant Urologist appointed by the NEC) and the Branch Committee structure reflects that of the NEC.
Each Branch has several meetings a year and has an AGM at which
Committee Members are elected.
At Branch meetings guest speakers are invited to talk on medical and non-medical topics, advice may be available from Stoma Care Nurses and representatives from the appliance and distribution companies display their products.
Most Branches hold social and fundraising events throughout the year.
Areas not covered by a local Branch are included in Postal Branch. Postal membership is not confined to residents of the UK - membership is available worldwide.
